Activity of the month: Collaboration Tasks

As many of you may know, the 70:20:10 model suggests that 20% of learning and development is through others. For this reason many of our clients have begun using On.Board to encourage this learning through collaborative activities. They do this by creating tasks that nudge a learner to get together with a colleague to discuss a particular topic or complete an activity together. Then once this has been done, the second part of the task includes a reflection form, to reflect back on the experience and say what they have learnt. This helps to further clarify understanding and complete the learning cycle.

For example, in a Product Advocacy scenario, it might be that a salesperson needs to meet with a senior salesperson to discuss their experiences and tips for selling a particular product. The learner is then asked to complete a set questions, to see what they have learnt and reflect on how they might improve their sales technique. This can then be sent to the Sales Manager for review and feedback.
